Modern nursing is a dynamic therapeutic and educated process in meeting the health needs of the individuals, the family and the community. It is one of the health professions which functions in conjunction with other health care agencies in assisting individuals, families and communities to achieve and maintain desirable standards. As propounded by the World Health Organization (WHO), Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely an absence of disease and infirmity.

Nurses provide a large part of health care, It is imperative that their training should equipped them with professional expertise to meet the changing demands of society and their expanding role. Also to recognize that the nature of nursing is of substantial significance for learning of the students both in theoretical and clinical instructions. Further, the faculty of College of Nursing recognizes the interdependency of nursing with allied professions and occupations in promoting, maintaining, restoring health and prevention of diseases.
